PRC River Trail Clean Up

Pompton Lakes, New Jersey

  July 10, 2010
10AM - 2PM
Joe Grill Field
Willow Ave
Pompton Lakes, New Jersey

PRC is offering another chance to sample our Three Rivers canoe and kayak trail as we round up trash along the way. Dress for the mess! We will be using our big PRC canoe as a “garbage scow” with volunteers contributing whatever they can collect. A fun and rewarding day! Get up close and personal with the Pequannock, Ramapo and Pompton rivers, while enjoying a great outing. Keep in mind that this is a work session. Experienced paddlers only, please, and you must have your own boat. Participants should note that these are rivers, not lakes. As our trail guide states: “Moving water is not the place to develop basic paddling skills.” Participants should consider their skill level before joining this. Safety first! And everyone must wear a Coastguard-approved lifejacket.

The event starts at our launch in Pompton Lakes. Bring lunch and a cold drink. Please arrive early to ensure a prompt start. We will be working from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. To reach it, follow Rt. 23 northbound to Newark Pompton Turnpike, then right onto Riverdale Road. Follow Riverdale Road east to a right on Riverdale Boulevard. Then make a right onto Willow Ave. See you there!
